Giving Back
Our charitable mission is to provide expertise and funds to those who otherwise may not have access to good financial planning advice.
Here are some of the ways we live out that mission:
- We've given $10,000 per year in 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 to a charity to fund their Individual Development Account program which provides matching funds for every dollar saved by low income participants.
- We participate in the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) "MoneyBus", when it visits Kansas City, to provide free financial advice to the public.
- We donate our time and expertise to the Kansas City Star's Money Makeovers.
- We participate in the Financial Planner Call-in Hotline for NBC Action News Channel 41 TV station. The hotline is manned by Certified Financial Planners, and organized by the local Financial Planning Association chapter.
- We've composed articles for the Kansas City Star to post on their Dollars and Sense online financial blog to help the public.
- We've contributed our expertise and time for a public call-in hotline as part of Kansas City's America Saves program.
- For more than seven years, we researched and answered tax questions on behalf of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants which were then published in the Kansas City Star's Tax Q&A column.
